Basel Committee’s banking climate risk principles disappoint advocacy groups

Climate Safe Lending Network and Finance Watch criticise the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision’s principles on climate risk as being weak, though the proposal has the support of the European Central Bank.

The Basel Committee on Banking Supervision’s climate-related financial risk principles, published last week, have been criticised by civil society groups, who claim they don’t begin to meet the scale of the crisis.
