Brussels Briefing: The EU’s Net Zero Industry Act

New policies aimed at creating a competitive European green industry include critical raw materials regulation and the establishment of a hydrogen bank, but have left some industry bodies and environmental groups concerned.

Aimed at helping the EU meet its climate targets and diversify its energy sources away from Russian gas, the EU’s series of net zero proposals released last week are equally intended to persuade investors and clean-tech companies that Europe is as attractive a market as China with its grip on strategic raw materials and the US with its Inflation Reduction Act.
