EU parliament approves building renovation rules

The vote to improve the energy efficiency of buildings will require €275bn in new investments a year and has been supported by both industry and environmental groups.

The European parliament has voted to back plans to accelerate the renovation of buildings in Europe, including mortgage portfolio standards to help raise the capital needed to improve Europe’s building stock.
