ReNew Power to invest $8bn in green hydrogen project in Egypt

The Egyptian Suez Canal Economic Zone is expanding its green hydrogen footprint.

India-based ReNew Power has signed a memorandum of understanding with the General Authority for Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone), the sovereign fund of Egypt, the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company, and the New and Renewable Energy Authority, to begin an $8bn project to produce 220,000 tons of green hydrogen.
