UK fines more than 30 companies for climate change scheme breaches

Fines for British companies are announced as the government prepares to toughen up its emissions trading scheme and research shows a sharp rise in the value of carbon trading globally last year.

More than 30 companies have been fined by the UK’s Environment Agency for breaking the terms of climate change schemes, including the European Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS).
