When should pension trustees listen to members’ ESG concerns?

New research indicates a growing desire among UK savers for their pensions to play a part in saving the planet. But a sustainable finance industry body has noted hesitancy among parts of the pension sector to act.

Over a fifth of the more than 1000 customers surveyed by PensionBee want fossil fuels excluded entirely from their pension scheme, the platform found earlier this month. At 21 per cent, the figure still represents the minority, but it is noticeably bigger than the 15 per cent of the previous year.
