Europe is not sufficiently prepared to deal with the extreme heat and precipitation changes that will come as it suffers temperature increases double that of other continents

Europe is the fastest-warming continent, heating up since the 1980s at around twice the global rate, says the first European climate risk assessment. Published by the European Environment Agency, the report shows that the average global temperature in the 12 months up to January 2024 was 1.5C above pre-industrial levels.
