Federal Reserve will not be a ‘climate policymaker’, says chair

Jerome Powell’s comments come on the heels of a Fed report on how global banks are measuring their climate risk.

Federal Reserve chair Jerome Powell has said that the central bank will not become a “climate policymaker”, as he made the case for the bank’s independence to a panel in Sweden.
