Next UK leader must remain committed to climate, say business groups

Advocacy groups representing UK-based businesses are urging Conservative party leadership candidates not to row back on the net zero target and other sustainability commitments.

Business groups have written an open letter to those competing to replace British prime minister Boris Johnson, who quit last week after the resignations of more than 50 senior government members, in support of the net zero transition as a source of job growth and to combat rising energy prices.
