Setting a new standard for responsible climate lobbying

As a new global standard on responsible climate lobbying is launched, asset managers consider how companies’ lobbying activities can hinder net zero targets.

Last week, a coalition of international investor groups representing over $130tn of combined assets under management launched a new global standard on responsible climate lobbying. This provides a framework to ensure companies’ lobbying and political engagement activities are aligned with the goal of restricting a global temperature rise to 1.5C above pre-industrial levels.
