UK Transition Plan Taskforce publishes disclosure framework

The taskforce announced at COP26 has published reporting requirements and created a “sandbox” to allow companies test implementation.

There is no shortage of private sector net-zero plans, but how many will actually deliver on pledges is much less clear. In attempt to avoid greenwashing, ensure plans are credible and help investors make well-informed decisions, Rishi Sunak (pictured), then UK chancellor, launched the UK Transition Plan Taskforce at COP26 a year ago. Aimed, at delivering a “gold standard’ for private sector climate transition plans, the initiative today at COP27 in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, published its disclosure framework, implementation guidance and an online “sandbox” for businesses and financial institutions to test implementation.
