Maritime industry prepares for tougher decarbonisation targets

Until now, shipping has avoided the same scrutiny as other industries on its emissions but upcoming EU regulation now aims to push for greater reductions on a global scale.

In recent months, the EU has put forward several legislative proposals that impose stricter decarbonisation efforts on existing shipping fleets, in an attempt to green and modernise an industry crucial to global trade.
