UK should develop nature credits, report recommends

A report by the City of London Corporation says establishing a high-integrity nature credit market, alongside sector-specific roadmaps for nature protection and restoration, are required market tools to advance nature finance in the UK

Innovative finance mechanisms such as nature-specific credits, derived from nature restoration or improvement projects, and carbon credits resulting from nature-based solutions, could lay the foundation to expand the UK policy and regulatory framework on nature finance, according to a new report by the City of London Corporation.
