VCMI: Flexibility in claims code could encourage more companies to act on net zero

The Voluntary Carbon Markets Integrity Initiative’s Mark Kenber discusses how its claims code of practice aims to improve waning confidence in the credibility of carbon offsetting, and the need for regulation in this area.

In June, the Voluntary Carbon Markets Integrity Initiative (VCMI), which focuses on improving standards on the demand side of voluntary carbon markets, released a claims code of practice, stipulating rules for companies’ “credible use of carbon credits and associated climate claims”.
