While demand for ESG data is on the rise, rating providers are facing criticism from both companies and investors about the accuracy, overall quality and usefulness of their work.

Dissatisfaction about the way companies are currently assessed on their environmental, social and governance credentials is compromising the role of ESG rating agencies in the field of sustainable finance, according to a new report by consultancy ERM.
