An EU Solar Charter, drafted by the European Commission, was signed by 23 member states in Brussels, establishing a set of voluntary commitments to support solar manufacturing in the bloc. The charter singles out China as a single supplier creating “short-term risks for the resilience of the value chain”. The commission has pledged in the charter to work with the European Investment Bank to reinforce its support for investments in the solar manufacturing value chain and to assess all evidence of alleged unfair practices across the industry.
