In Brief: World Bank launches EM transition finance initiative; Church of England bans oil majors from portfolio

The World Bank has announced the creation of a Private Sector Investment Lab, which aims to ease obstacles preventing private sector investment in emerging markets. Launched during the New Global Financing Pact summit in Paris yesterday, the initiative will look at renewable energy and energy infrastructure, and will be co-chaired by Mark Carney, who also co-chairs the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero, and by Shriti Vadera, chair of insurance group Prudential.
